Making Kids Happy

For the Love of Kids US 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for international relief
and development on a mission to breaking the chains of injustice and poverty affecting children.

Discover.

We conducted e-meetings with local partners in Lebanon, from four areas, given a context of massive economic crisis compounded by COVID-19. We also conducted a desk research to make sure we have a full grasp of the situation affecting children in Lebanon, particularly those from vulnerable homes and those living with physical, emotional, or learning difficulties. The common thread is a tremendous gap in: (a) access to food for the most vulnerable; (b) access to primary healthcare and/or specialized care or counseling (for example: specialized emotional therapy sessions that may now be even more critical and needed for children living with disabilities); (c) support for educators who are experiencing the same struggles, and using to the extent possible their own resources to connect with their school kids; (d) access to seeds, agricultural input, and training to farmers and households for improved food security.

Dream.

Our field partners in Lebanon are already working to address those areas of focus affecting children and they can use the financial support and appropriate training so they can do more. Together we set the following goals: (a) Reach 900 families with an Emergency Kit (including food supplies) over a period of six months. (b) Help increase access to child therapy sessions for 150 sessions and set up an Emergency fund to empower partners to respond to lifesaving and life-changing needs that may not be covered by the existing project activities (such as critical needs for shelter to the most vulnerable or access to medication for children whose caretakers are unable to cover for those). (c) training, resources and/or financial support to educators in their efforts to implement e-learning or non-tech learning opportunities for students, and follow-up. (d) Pilot Household Agriculture Kits with 30 vulnerable families with training and support for increased household food security.

Do.
